Iran’s Threat to Close Strait of Hormuz Raises Fresh Risks for German Industry and European Inflation

Iran has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz militarily after negotiations with the United States under President Donald Trump apparently broke down. A disruption of the key oil and gas route would pose a major risk to energy-intensive German industry and could push European inflation higher.
