Germany Cuts Fuel Taxes and Plans Temporary Price Cap as Energy Costs Rise

The German government will reduce energy taxes on petrol and diesel by the equivalent of about 17 cents a litre from October through the end of 2026, while preparing a temporary fuel-price cap for 2027.
