Bonn-based logistics giant DHL Group, in close cooperation with the Federal Aviation Office, has launched Germany's first large-scale test operation for fully autonomous delivery drones in the urban airspace of the Ruhr region. The pioneering project tests the delivery of high-priority medical goods and spare parts, aiming to prove that the integration of commercial drone logistics is safe and highly efficient even in densely populated industrial regions.
